Trying to fill my blog I guess. Won’t worry about that though!
I would like to share you my portfolio, my philosophy and my way of life to you. As many of you probably already know, or noticed, I’m trying to find the perfect balance between Vectors and Pixels. Most of my personal digital work tries to find a perfect photo – vector blending, or even more techniques. Everything is done in illustrator, no live trace, just my mouse and me. That’s also why I find it a great honor Coca Cola once gave me the “title”: ‘Pixel vs Vector MixMaster’ and times later, Abduzeedo interviewed me with the same title.
Many people put vector elements in a photo, instead of creating a perfect balance. I’m not implying I found the perfect balance, but it’s one of my goals to figure it eventually out. It’s not only with the techniques I’m using, I’m also trying to show people the balance of life. The concepts. It’s black&white vs colors. Reality vs fiction. The longing of many human beings to get out of the reality and do whatever they want. Many of my works are at the moment quite ‘negative’, but I will work on the ‘positive’ side in the future as well.
In the future I will not only try to balance vectors and photos, but for example, also photos, vectors, paintings and even traditional arts. Who knows what happens then. It could also be a very cool way to show something like this in commercial work. Coca Cola for instance: enjoying your life!
It was actually a long time ago I came with a certain concept to balance techniques. I was still a student back then and many people told me it was ‘a lost case’. Maybe it is, but who doesn’t try, doesn’t win. Up until now, it works fine for me.
Balance out your life, why not trying to balancing different modern techniques in arts? Try something different, something new.
Ofcourse I am also exploring vectors differently then combining it with pixels.
